Get to know the founders of Umami
Anna Scarmoncin
Anna is an experiential educator and facilitator with over a decade of experience working with groups.
At Umami, she brings the depth of experience-oriented learning — the kind that invites people to not only perform but to shift, grow, and integrate new ways of being together. Her work is rooted in presence, playful practice, and the belief that meaningful transformation begins when people are invited to experience the learning themselves.
Anna holds degrees in International Relations and Diplomacy from Trieste University in Italy, and in Social Work from the Technische Hochschule Georg Simon Ohm in Nuremberg, Germany. She currently works in the Psychiatric Department at the Erlangen University Hospital and owns a company that specialises in training, education, coaching and facilitation.
Karl Quint
Karl is a physician, cancer researcher, and founder of Quint Healthcare, a consultancy for healthcare innovation. He works with hospitals and healthcare companies of all sizes — from startups to large organisations — and brings a broad understanding of workforce healthcare that includes not just systems and structures, but also the well-being and effectiveness of the people within them.
Working in healthcare innovation has made it natural for Karl to explore new, forward-thinking approaches to team development. Across clinical settings, research groups, and company teams, he has encountered many different “flavors” of collaboration — and has seen how mindset, communication, and shared purpose directly translate into results.
At Umami, Karl brings a clear eye for purpose and a results-oriented mindset — drawn from medical practice, where every decision counts and each individual matters. He supports teams in uncovering the structures, habits, and dynamics that unlock lasting performance and true collaboration.
